#bookreview … This Too Is Love Kindle Edition by Anya Monroe

Genre Young Adult, Contemporary, Fantasy

I wanted best friends forever and calls from a boyfriend, but my phone only rings when some guy can’t get what he wants from his girlfriend. And knows he can get it from me. I am my mother’s daughter.

It wasn’t always like this. At first, it was just one guy, but when someone new drove me home, whistling and saying, “Damn, girl, you’re hot,” I knew what I was becoming, what I was doing.

I was going to let anyone have me until someone wanted me for more.

But then I found out I was pregnant. And I hoped everything would change.

Hope. The word carries so much. Because what if it doesn’t work out or show up and come through? But what if it does? This Too Is Love (Goodreads)

Such a powerful story. I was hooked from the beginning. This story showed me once again that in life we can become whoever we want to be regardless where we come from. We just never have to lose our faith and we have to leave the past in the past. We have to forgive the people that hurt us and simply accept them for who they are. Like this, we can take our life in our hands and decide if we will be who they thought us to be or if we will be who we want to become.

I definitely recommend this book. Five stars from me!

#bookreview … Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher (kindle edition)

Not so long ago I finished reading this book and I wanted to review it for so long, but I didn’t know how to put it in words. The thing is, this book had such a high impact on me because the things happening in it are actually happening in real life, every single day! And most of us, including me, don’t do anything to stop it! So this is not a professional review, it’s just the impact that the book had on me.

Clay Jensen received some tapes from a girl that was going to school with him but that committed suicide. As he listens to her tapes, he realizes that there were so many occasions in which he could have helped her but he didn’t. The fact is, that he would have probably not make her change her mind, but the fact that he didn’t try really gets to him.

Isn’t that what most of us do? See the signs but we say nothing? We turn our eyes and pretend like nothing happened? Tell people to just get over stuff? Tell them that life sucks? Yup, we do that! We don’t realize however, that our actions are actually making other people suffer. And than are those that do realize but don’t care!

This book made me cry several times! Brought sad and heavy, heartbreaking memories! But made me realize that I must be careful with what I say or do, because there is no such thing as ‘exaggerating people’ only ‘sensitive people’! And there is nothing wrong with being sensitive!

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Stars!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thanks for reading!

#bookreview …La Liste – By Jérémy Demay – A list of 10 books to help ourlife

Jérémy Demay is a French comedian that arrived in Quebec, Canada 10 years ago. He came with a dream, and without friends and family, so far away from home, he had to fight to achieve it. He wanted to be a famous comedian. Unfortunately, not long after his arrival, Jérémy Demay suffered from depression. Realizing that something has to change in his life, he started to work on himself and after a lot of suffering and hard work he finally managed to see the light. He is now living his dream. He decided to share with his audience things that helped him improved and things that helped him with his depression.

I received this book as a Christmas present from one of my dearest family members and I thank him for giving me this book.

In his book La Liste, Jérémy Demay shares techniques to improve our own self and books that one should read in order to be able to do so. I will list all the books (that I added on my To Read goodreads account) because I want as well to improve my person. I want to be able to live for myself and not care what people around me say or think about me. I want too to live my dreams and I want to fight for them, but I feel sometimes this urge to give up, for no specific reason; from fear. Here are the books that  Jérémy Demay suggests we should read in order to improve and grow as a person:

1. The Artist’s Way, A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity ‘s Way – Julia Cameron

2. Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill

Reflechissez Et Devenez Riche / Think and Grow Rich [Translated] (French Edition) by [Hill, Napoleon]

3. You’ll See It When You Believe It – Wayne Dyer

4. The Power of Your Subconscious Mind – Dr. Joseph Murphy

5. The Science of Being Great – Wallance D. Wattles

6. The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire: Harnessing the Infinite Power of Coincidence – Deepak Chopra

7. Daily Love – Mastin Kipp

8. Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao – Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

9. Stillness Speak – Eckhart Tolle

10. Les mots sont des fenêtres (ou des murs) – Marshall B. Rosenberg

If you are struggling in your life and you don’t know in which direction to go, if you wonder how to find your inner peace, if you want to live a happy and a quiet life, I hope these books will help you as they helped Jérémy Demay. I really want to make some changes in my life so all the above books are added to my list and I will read them one by one and work hard to achieve the life that I want. Just remember: There is no such thing as too hard or too late! If you want it (with all your heart and mind) you will have it!

I do recommend this book and 5 stars are a must ❤!

Thanks for reading!

#bookreview … Marley & Me by John Grogan

Marley & Me by John Grogan is a nonfiction book. John and his future wife were just starting their life together and they decided to adopt a puppy. They fell in love with Marley, a Labrador retriever, who was indeed amazingly cute as a puppy. What they didn’t know, is that Marley was to give them the hardest times of their lives. Even so, John and his wife loved him till the end and Marley proved to them that no matter how bad the behavior, a dog is a man’s best friend.

My review:

I bought this book, in French, at a garage sell and I was super excited to read it. The book is so well written that from the beginning I could imagine that I was there with them, living all the excitement that one feels when a puppy is brought to the family. Soon I was laughing with tears at all the craziness that Marley was creating around him. I couldn’t help but question myself if I would be able to keep such a ‘troubled dog’. I was reminded over and over again, by Marley’s sweet behavior that no matter how the dog acts, once you decide to adopt you cannot change your mind. A dog should stay with its owner for life, as once he came into the master’s home, he is now part of the family. I fell in love with Marley. He was crazy, and he was chewing everything that crossed his path, he was not listening at all but he was always loving and caring when the time would ask for it. As the writer said at one point, Marley basically shows us that a simple life is a happy life.

Where to get the book:

#bookreview…He Counts Their Tears Kindle Edition by Mary Ann D’Alto

The author gave me the book for free for an honest review. And here it comes my review. 🙂

I must say that it was an easy read. The story grabbed my attention from the beginning. There were not many characters to focus my attention on which I really like in a book, because when there are too many names I lose focus and I am not sure anymore who should I pay attention to. (yes..I am funny like that :D).

Aaron, he is scary. Beautifully scary. Thinking that there might be people out there that do what Aaron does makes me want to pay attention to every single person in my life. The only dangerous thing is that you can never know what Aaron is up to because he manipulates people so well that in the end they don’t know what they are doing anymore.

This character is so strong from all points. He has physical beauty on his side which is the first step in his game and after, the others are so lost in his game that it is too late for them to back away. I don’t want to give many details about the book if you do decide to read it, however I must say that the game he is playing is dangerous and he knows it but it is the only way he actually feels alive.

The only part that I didn’t really like was that at times there was too much repetition. I had the impression that information that was already given was just repeated too many times and I was rushing through those parts to go faster to the story.

I will give this book 5 stars regardless of the part that I didn’t like just because the story was brilliant and Aaron really drew me to him even though he was just a fictional character. He did scare me though. 🙂

Thanks for reading lovelies!

Have a great night!
